Health Ministry Aims to Strengthen Healthcare, Equip Hospitals

Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Acting Minister of Public Health, emphasized the need to strengthen the healthcare system, enhance staff capacity, and equip hospitals during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador.

According to a statement from the ministry, discussions focused on providing medical equipment to Kabul’s National Hospital, establishing a Traditional Medicine Institute, and expanding and renovating the Mirwais Regional Hospital in Kandahar.

During the meeting, the acting minister reiterated the importance of improving the healthcare system, enhancing staff capabilities, expanding healthcare services, and equipping hospitals with essential medical supplies. He also urged the Chinese Ambassador to support the reconstruction and development of the Mirwais Regional Hospital in Kandahar, the provision of medical equipment for the National Hospital in Kabul, and the establishment of a Traditional Medicine Institute.

The Chinese Ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to ongoing cooperation and pledged full support for the reconstruction and expansion of the Mirwais Regional Hospital, the training of healthcare personnel, and the provision of essential medical equipment and medicines.

He further stated that, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, the reconstruction and development of the Mirwais Regional Hospital will commence in the near future.
