Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held a farewell meeting with Indrika Ratwatte, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator in Afghanistan.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, and as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi also met with Georgette Gagnon, the Acting Head of the UN Assistance Mission and Chief of the Political Section, along with her delegation. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Islamic Emirate and UN organizations.
Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed appreciation for Andrika Ratwatte’s contributions as UNAMA’s humanitarian co-ordinator in Afghanistan and wished her success in her future endeavors.
In response, Indrika thanked Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their cooperation during her mission, describing her time in Afghanistan as filled with valuable experiences and memorable moments.
