Residents of Anaba and Rokha districts in Panjshir, who have suffered losses due to recent floods, are appealing for help and cooperation from the government and charitable organizations.
According to them, the floods have destroyed not only residential houses but also shops, agricultural lands, canals, and small power dams.
Javid, a resident of Anaba district, said: “The floods have destroyed people’s shops, agricultural canals, and farmland, causing substantial financial losses to the inhabitants of this province.”
Mohammad Khalid, another resident of Anaba district, stated: “Our entire house was submerged, and all the retaining walls were washed away.”
At a meeting held in Panjshir to gather and attract aid for the flood victims, local officials stated that efforts are being made to provide more assistance to those affected.
Officials from some aid organizations have also promised to deliver timely help to the flood victims in this province.
Mohammad Agha Hakim, the Governor of Panjshir, said: “The survey is still ongoing, and substantial aid has already been provided, with more on the way.”
Mohibullah Jahid, the Head of Natural Disaster Response in Panjshir, mentioned: “Twenty-three families from Anaba and Rokha districts whose homes were destroyed have received aid from us.”
Mohammad Ali Hassanzi, a representative of one of the aid organizations, said: “In this project, we are providing each family with a tent, five blankets, and all necessary kitchen utensils.”
According to officials, the floods have destroyed 14 residential houses, approximately 150 acres of agricultural land, 20 shops, 16 water canals, several kilometers of roads, and bridges, and hundreds of livestock have perished.
