The first batch of China’s humanitarian aid for earthquake victims in eastern Afghanistan arrived in Kabul this morning. The aid includes 3,000 blankets and 350 tents, with an estimated value of $700,000.
The earthquake struck last Monday around midnight in the provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Panjshir, and Nuristan, with Kunar being the most severely affected.
According to Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, the death toll in Kunar has risen to 2,205, while the number of injured has reached 3,640.
