Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan Liu Jinsong has assured his country would support eastern Nangarhar province in trade, mines, and agriculture and reconstruction spheres.
The Chinese envoy met Nangarhar governor Hayatullah Hayat at the Chinese Embassy in Kabul on Sunday, the governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The governor highly appreciated Chinese aid with Afghanistan, the country’s mediation in the Afghan peace process and urged the envoy to support trade, mines, agriculture and returning families.
Hayat also said China should support and provide facilities to Afghan business men doing businesses in the country.
The Chinese envoy promised Hayat that Nangarhar pine nuts would be directly exported to China and more market for Nangarhar marble stones would be explored in China.
Liu said his country would provide more assistance to recently returning families in term of shelter, vocational education and agriculture.
He insisted his country was determined to expanding its relations with Afghanistan in various fields.
The governor invited Liu to visit Nangarhar in order to make the relations more strong.
The two sides also discussed other issues of bilateral interest during the meeting, the governor’s spokesman said.
