The Minister of Economy, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, who also heads the Committee for Attracting and Mobilizing Assistance for Returnees, called for sustained cooperation from industrial and commercial unions, traders, producers, and entrepreneurs to support returnees during a meeting with committee members.
The Ministry of Economy’s press office stated that the meeting included representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Refugees and Repatriation, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Foreign Affairs, the National Statistics and Information Authority, Natural Disaster Management, and security agencies, alongside leaders from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several construction and manufacturing firms. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination, effective service delivery, addressing returnees’ challenges, and facilitating support for migrants returning from neighboring countries.
Minister Hanif expressed gratitude for past assistance from industrial and commercial unions, traders, and entrepreneurs in aiding victims of climate-related disasters and returnees, urging them to maintain their support.
In response, attendees—including chamber officials and corporate leaders—pledged their “full and sincere commitment” to assisting returnees alongside the Islamic Emirate’s authorities and relevant committees, emphasizing readiness for any required collaboration.
