Tasked by President Ashraf Ghani, a delegation from Kabul arrived in central Parwan province on Saturday to probe alleged civilian casualties during an operation in Jabal Saraj district.
On Thursday night, foreign and local security forces conducted an operation to detain criminal Mohammad Wazir.
A 10-year-old child was killed and seven other people were wounded as a result of the raid, triggering protest by local residents.
The governor’s office said the president had dispatched a delegation to Parwan to probe the incident.
Governor Fazluddin Ayar while visiting families of the victims had vowed to investigate the incident seriously.
After the incident, tens of residents of Jabal Saraj district protested against the overnight raid and blocked the Parwan-Kabul highway against traffic.
