The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has announced the start of construction of a refugee township in Kunar province.
The press office of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing reported today that Mawlawi Nabiullah Talha, head of urban development and housing in Kunar province, said that the construction of the refugee township in the Khass district of Kunar has officially begun.
Mawlavi Nabiullah Talha stated that this township will be built on 374 jeribs of government land and will have a total of 382 residential plots according to the plan. He added that, to ensure the township meets standards, main and secondary roads with a width of 12.5 meters will be constructed to facilitate easy transportation for residents.
The basic services of this project include digging wells, building a clean drinking water system, and implementing fundamental measures for wastewater management. Mawlavi Nabiullah Talha added that 3 million Afghanis will be spent on these public service works, which will provide permanent facilities for the residents of the township.
This project is one of the national programs of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, aimed at constructing permanent housing for forcibly returned families, improving the living standard, and taking key steps to accelerate urban development.
