Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate, met with Yu Xiaoyong, China’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, to discuss expanding trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, Minister Azizi highlighted Afghanistan’s safe and favorable investment environment and invited Chinese investors to explore opportunities across various Afghanistan’s economic sectors for mutual benefit.
He emphasized enhancing facilities to boost Afghanistan’s exports to China, mainly cotton, pomegranates, pine nuts, precious and semi-precious stones, and other export commodities. He also called for improved customs, transit, and transportation arrangements between Afghanistan and China.
Yu Xiaoyong expressed interest from Chinese businesses in the Afghanistan’s market, describing Afghanistan as a country rich in untapped investment potential within China’s strategic vision. He underscored the importance of cooperation between relevant institutions in both countries to support the private sector and strengthen economic ties.
Both sides agreed on the need to deepen collaboration to facilitate trade and promote further investments.
