Civil servants who are aged 58-65 could work from home for three weeks from Monday as a precaution against coronavirus, Afghanistan’s Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission said.
Female employees who are pregnant have also been told to work from home for two weeks.
Those employees who have recently returned from countries where coronavirus has spread have also been told to use their annual leave they have been entitled to for two weeks.
So far, Afghanistan has reported 21 positive cases of coronavirus in the country.
The latest precautionary measures announced include also avoiding assemblies to pray for the dead in mosques.
