Panjshir Department of Information and Culture has announced that a number of Chinese businessmen have expressed interest in investing in the Panjshir-Kabul water conduit project.
The businessmen, in a meeting with the governor of Panjshir, stated that nationwide security in Afghanistan provides suitable opportunities for any type of investment.
Meanwhile, Panjshir Governor Mohammad Agha Hakim pledged full cooperation with local and foreign investors and supported Chinese interest in investment.
He said the Panjshir-Kabul water conduit project is a major public benefit project.
Hakim also spoke about the registration of thousands of mines in Panjshir and emphasized that mining is ongoing in more than 500 sites in the province.
According to local officials, companies from Iran, France and US have shared their plans to invest in different areas in Panjshir.
Last month, officials of the Ministry of Energy and Water announced that a survey had begun for the 120 km Panjshir-Kabul water conduit project.
