Unknown gunmen have killed a boy and his fiancé a day before wedding in the Kohistan district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.
Mohammad Nasir, the district police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News Mubarak Shah and Sanober — residents of Bandar area — were scheduled to wed yesterday. They were killed on Friday night.
He said the motive behind the double murderer was not yet known. Mubarak Shah previously served in the army. He and his fiancé were killed in a Taliban-controlled area.
Nasir added unidentified armed men entered Mubarak Shah’s house and shot him dead. The same fate befell Sanober inside her house.
Meanwhile, a local Taliban commander denied the group’s involvement in the incident. Taliban were investigating the incident, he concluded.
