For the first time, the recently discovered Biruj mines in the Anaba and Aabshar districts of Panjshir province have been officially added to the area’s list of mineral resources, joining the valuable emerald mines.
Saifuddin Latoon, spokesman for the Panjshir governor, announced that the new Biruj mines were confirmed by a team of technical engineers from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. Mining operations have commenced on a trial basis, with samples available for testing.
Latoon emphasized that following the examination of these samples, official mining operations are expected to begin shortly.
He highlighted that the expansion of mining activities in Panjshir, driven by the province’s leadership, aims to boost revenue for the Islamic system, stimulate economic development, and generate job opportunities for over 15,000 workers.
