President Ashraf Ghani has appointed Dr. Latif Bahand as Afghanistanambassador to Russia on the recommendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
A letter from the MoFA sent to the president said that Dr. Latif Bahand is a qualified person to serve as Afghan envoy in Russia.
The president agreed with the foreign ministry suggestion and appointed Bahand as Afghanistan ambassador in Moscow.
Dr. Latif Bahand was previously serving as deputy head for central Asia part in the MoFA.
Besides a good diplomat, Bahand is also a great writer and has written many books. He also translated many books from other languages into Pashto language.
He last year translated Aram Don written by Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov in Russian language, to Pashto.
