The Badakhshan Electricity Company has made a significant investment in electrical equipment worth 138,411,837 Afghanis to bolster electricity supply in the Faizabad and Baharak districts.
The acquisition includes 1,208 poles, transformers, copper, and aluminum cables, along with various other essential items aimed at improving the region’s power infrastructure.
Mawlavi Hikmatullah Akhundzada, head of Da Afghan BreshnaSherkat in the province, shared details with the Bakhtar News Agency regarding the ongoing challenges of power shortages in Faizabad, particularly during the winter months. He pointed out that the Shorabak power dam, capable of generating excess electricity in the summer, has not been fully utilized, and efforts are being made to address this disparity.
The newly acquired equipment will be instrumental in enhancing the 20/04 kV network, facilitating better power distribution across several districts in Faizabad and Baharak.
