Axon Media Group represents Afghanistan in China-South Asia Media Forum

Axon Media Group (AMG) represented by Vice President Mohammad Hamid Hamdard participated in the China-South Asia Media Forum designed to strengthen media cooperation for people-to-people exchange between China and South Asia countries. The forum was opened in Yuxi, southwest China’s Yunnan province, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the Forum, Mr. Hamdard said that Afghanistan is a historic friend, a peace-loving neighbor, and a strategic ally of China, with strong state-to-state and people-to-people relationship. He stressed that the Afghan media industry, besides many other institutions, has seen a remarkable rise in the number of media outlets over the last decade and a half, playing a key role in balanced development and perception change of the society. Mr. Hamdard further emphasized on media ties with China, noting that Afghan people are pleased to have witnessed over recent years increasingly closer Afghan – China media exchanges and cooperation, forming a bridge of communication and friendship between the two countries. In 2010, the China Radio International started comprehensive cooperation with Spogmai FM, providing an important channel through which Afghan people could learn about China.

He stated that Axon Media Group is a leading, reliable private group offering media and cultural services in Afghanistan, and a partner of China Radio International (CRI) in Afghanistan, and an umbrella organization for Spogmai and Saar FM Radio Stations, The Heart of Asia Daily, Maseer Daily, Waygal Printing Co. Aksos bookstore and Smart Student online Store.

Hundreds of professionals and experts from China and South Asia countries, including Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Maldives attended the conference.

They called the Forum as a platform for media professionals from China and South Asia countries to pursue stronger cooperation and promote people-to-people exchange.

The Axon media representative thanked China for its honest cooperation and investment in Afghanistan. Now that China has launched the One Belt One Road, a major historic and strategic economic project, the role of the broader media family, he underlined, has become more crucial in further accelerating and expanding reliable reporting, cultural efforts, and in-depth news programs and analyses. He said China is a true friend and a true friend is forever.

Among the officials from the South Asia states was Afghan Minister of Commerce and Industry who highlighted the need for enhancing China-Afghan relations, especially engagement for enriching media and trade ties.
