Some 300,000 fraudulent votes are still in the main server of the Independent Election Commission, Abdullah Abdullah’s electoral team claimed on Monday.

Noor Rahman Akhlaqi, an observer of Stability and Convergence ticket, told a press conference that around 137,630 votes were entered to the biometric devices at least six days after the Election Day.

He said that more than 100,000 votes were recorded beyond the voting time and 70,000 votes didn’t meet photo criteria.

Earlier on Saturday, the Independent Election Commission announced that 86,226 votes had been detected as failing to meet the criteria after filtering of biometric data by Dermalog, a company that provided biometric machines.

The commission said that 1,843,107 votes were valid votes and that it was ready to launch auditing and recounting of the votes.

Akhlaqi said that all invalid votes should be detected before the process of recounting begins. He also said that recounting should not be done under supervision of officials who are accused of involvement in fraud.

He also said that at least 700 biometric devices and data chips had been lost, calling on the IEC to invalidate votes of those polling stations whose verification machines have gone missing as soon as possible.

In line with the IEC decision, the votes cast in areas other than the polling stations identified by the GPS devices should also be declared null and void, Akhalqi said.

Afghanistan’ controversial presidential elections were held on September 28, but IEC failed to announce the preliminary results even one month after the Election Day. After being harshly criticized for missing the election schedule, IEC promised to declare the initial results of the vote on November 14.

Despite being the fourth presidential election since Taliban’s ouster, September 28 election drew the lowest turnout in Afghanistan’s election history due to security threats and distrust in transparency.
