The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Live Stoke says production of almond in central Daikundi province has increased by 40% this year compare to last year.

The ministry in a statement published on Tuesday said enough raining helped the almond production increase in the province this year.

It says that during the previews years formers in the central province produced roughly 15-20 thousand tons of almond each year, but this year the amount reached to 25 thousand tons.

Referring to the severe drought last year, the ministry says enough water, control of diseases, distribution of improved plants and creation of standard orchards are the reasons behind the sharp rise in the dry fruit harvest.
