Alingar police chief killed in roadside blast

Three policemen, including police chief of the Alingar district, were killed and three others injured in a blast on Tuesday in eastern Laghman province, an official said.

Governor spokesman Asadullah Dawlatzai told Pajhwok Afghan News District Police Chief Syed Arif Sadaat and two other policemen were killed and three others injured in a roadside blast on their vehicle.

He said the incident happened at around 11:00 am in the Maskinabad locality.

Gul Agha, a resident of the locality, said a roadside blast struck Sadaat’s vehicle while he was going through the area.

The injured had been shifted to the hospital as more official arrived at the site of the blast, he added.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
