Acting Defence Minister Asadullah Khalid on Thursday said fighting was not solution to end war and animosity in Afghanistan and believed that the people of Afghanistan could remove their differences through dialogue.
Khalid expressed the view during while talking to Afghan media representatives here on the sideline of the NATO Defence Ministers Meeting.
He acknowledged that election was the only way for the political future of Afghanistan and admitted that challenges and issues existed in the way of upcoming presidential elections.
He said Afghan security forces were engaged in dismantling the bases of militants in different provinces of Afghanistan and continued their advancement.
Khalid said Afghan security forces have learned advance military skills during their past 18-years of training and they could serve in any part of the world in the future.
He said reforms and changes in the defence sector was underway and more opportunities for youth and women were being provided now compared to the past.
Referring to the lack of professional in air force, the acting defence minister demanded more help in this regard to ensure the hideouts of the insurgents are eradicated.
The NATO Defence Ministers meeting is underway in Brussels. Alliance discuss range of issues including Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and efforts for peace and reconciliation.
