During a conference titled “Trade Communication Between the Private Sectors of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan” held in Balkh, joint traders from both countries highlighted the importance of strengthening and expanding their trade, political, and cultural ties.
According to the Bakhtar News Agency, the conference participants underscored the need for enhanced economic cooperation and the creation of better facilities for private sector stakeholders.
Haroon Rashid Qazi, Deputy of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment, advocated for the facilitation and implementation of the visa issuance process by Uzbek authorities. He remarked that easing this process could significantly boost trade exchanges and encourage joint investments.
In response, Jafar Fattahov, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Mazar-e-Sharif, welcomed the initiative to strengthen economic ties and assured that business visas would be issued to Afghan traders.
The conference concluded with discussions where traders from both nations shared insights and explored investment opportunities in various sectors, including agriculture, construction, pharmaceuticals, oil, and food products.
