Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia will soon join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a huge regional project, hopes a Pakistani minister.
In an interview published on Sunday, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri said Pakistan wanted friendly relations with all neighbors.
He recently met the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan and offered him to join CPEC, the minister told The News. He said the war-torn country would benefit from joining the project.
Qadri said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s desired stronger relations with all neighbors. Afghanistan and Pakistan shared a common religion and culture, he added.
He met ambassador Omar Zakhelwal in Islamabad last week and discussed bilateral issues with him. He promised all facilities for Afghan citizens travelling to Pakistan.
Pakistan had offered to build rail and roads inside the neighboring country, he said, adding Pakistan would be connected to Europe through railroads in Afghanistan.
