Afghanistan, Tajikistan sign railway agreement

Afghanistan and Tajikistan have signed an agreement to build railway connecting the two neighboring countries.

The rail line would begin from Afghanistan’s Sher Khan land port and end in Panj Payan area of Tajikistan.

The agreement was signed by the director of Afghanistan Railway Authority Mohammad Yama Shams and Tajikistan’s Transport Minister Khudyor Khudoyorzoda at Tajikistan’s Ministry of Transport.

Based on the agreement, Tajikistan and its development institutions will carry out design, construction as well as feasibility study of the project.
