Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Gaziz Akbasov, has proposed the signing of a bilateral agreement on plant protection and quarantine during a meeting with the Afghan Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, Mawlavi Ataullah Omari, held in Kabul.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, Minister Omari discussed investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s agriculture, livestock, and irrigation sectors. He emphasized the country’s abundant natural resources and agricultural potential and called on Kazakhstan’s private sector to invest in various areas of agriculture and livestock.
The minister assured Ambassador Akbasov of the government’s full cooperation and support for foreign investors and said that the Islamic Emirate is ready to facilitate investment projects.
During the meeting, the Kazakh ambassador formally proposed a memorandum of understanding between the two countries on issues related to plant protection and quarantine. Both sides also discussed the expansion of technical cooperation and strengthening of agricultural ties between the two nations — according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock.
