Afghanistan, Azerbaijan Strengthen Transportation Ties

Mullah Hamidullah Akhundzada, the country’s Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, met with Ilham Mahmudov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kabul, to discuss the enhancement of transportation ties between their two countries.

During the meeting, held at the Ministry’s office, both officials highlighted the progress made in establishing a framework for the transportation of Azerbaijani commercial goods through Afghanistan to various regional markets.

The Minister underscored the significance of the Lapis Lazuli Corridor, a key transit route designed to facilitate trade and connectivity among several nations. He noted that the current conditions are conducive for traders to transport their goods across Afghanistan, thereby opening new opportunities for commerce.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to further cooperation that would enhance regional connectivity and economic growth.
