The Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process, emphasizing that peace in Afghanistan is critical for enduring peace in Pakistan.
He made the remarks during a meeting with the elders of the tribal areas of during a Jirga on Monday.
Khan further added that Pakistan wanted peace beyond its borders, particularly in Afghanistan as he reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance to play role in Afghan peace process along with other stakeholders.
He said peace in Afghanistan is critical for achieving enduring peace in Pakistan.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Khan said Pakistan fought an imposed war at a very heavy cost and emphasized that no such war would be fought inside Pakistan again.
According to the Media Wing of the Pakistani Military, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Military also accompanied Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to FATA on Monday.
