Aksos Book Store, established in 2014, is the largest and most famous book store and publisher in Kabul. Aksos Book Store is a cultural branch of Axon Media Group, Aksos stepped out to enrich the national culture in the country, to promote book reading and to establish it in the society so that it could play an important role in the needs of the society as well as in its spiritual structure. It has immensely contributed to the revitalization and promotion of culture of reading, and translating in the country. The book store was also the first to roll out online book sale and delivery services in the country, getting a warm welcome from the book lovers and readers. Aksos Book Store has published around 250+ titles of books so far, of which majority are Political and in Psychology. Aksos Book Store has mostly been trying to translate and publish the books that can play an important role in the society and political situation as well as to extend and enrich the knowledge of younger generation. The board has expert members who are evaluating the books and once the has been evaluated and checked, the board has the authority to qualify or disqualify the book for printing and publishing. In this evaluation the key points that are considered are the contents of the book, social effects, and the reading and selling market of it.
Aksos Translating Board:
Aksos Book Store has also launched an initiative of standard translation from foreign languages to Pashto for the first time in Afghanistan, and is now in full swing. This board dozens of translating experts and professionals, which are able to carry out an immense load of word in a really short time span with standard results. Finally, once the translation of a book is completed, it will be reviewed and checked once again by the Cultural Board, and Cultural Board has the authority to refuse or accept the translation and procced for printing. The board has recently translated multiple books of the day and are getting warm welcome from the book lovers. This has helped Pashto language to be a step ahead from other competitor languages and do not rely on them.
