Two new sites of the Salam telecommunications network have been inaugurated and put into operation in Khanjan and Deh Salah districts of Baghlan Province.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, Farooqi Khpalwak, spokesperson to the Governor of Baghlan, said at the inauguration ceremony that the new sites have been established in Bajga village of Khanjan District and in one of the areas of Deh Salah District.
He added that expanding telecommunications and internet services, particularly in remote areas of the province, is among the major needs of residents. With the activation of these sites, residents of Khanjan and Deh Salah districts will have better and easier access to telecommunications and internet services.
He said that the provincial local administration is working to address the problems and demands of residents in a timely manner, expand public services, and take necessary measures to develop basic infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the representative of Afghan Telecom said at the ceremony that, according to the company’s plan, five of the seven Salam telecommunications sites planned for Baghlan have so far been completed, while work on the remaining two sites will be completed in the coming weeks.
It is worth noting that, with the expansion of telecommunications networks in Baghlan, residents of seven districts of the province now have access to third- and fourth-generation (3G and 4G) telecommunications services.
