The Farah Directorate of Economy says that 61 development projects worth nearly 2 billion AFN have been implemented in the province by the Islamic Emirate and partner organizations.
Mawlavi Jamaluddin Jalali, Director of Economy for Farah, told Bakhtar News Agency that 34 organizations, including 11 international and 23 domestic organizations, are registered in the province.
He added that during the first six months of the current year, 61 development projects worth 1.943 billion AFN were implemented by the Islamic Emirate and partner organizations in the sectors of health, education, rural rehabilitation and development, customs, guidance, Hajj and religious endowments, municipalities, transportation, and public works. Of these, 27 have been completed, while 34 others are currently underway.
He further stated that partner organizations have implemented 48 service projects worth $21.298 million in the sectors of agriculture, education, health, migrants, disaster response, and rural rehabilitation and development. Of these, 18 have been completed, while 30 others are currently underway.
According to local officials, the implementation of these projects has created direct and indirect job opportunities for nearly 22,000 people.
