Russian company Power Machines has expressed interest in investing in the rehabilitation and modernization of Afghanistan’s power generation facilities and expanding their generation capacity.
According to a statement issued by the press office of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, Chief Executive Officer of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, met with technical and commercial officials of the Russian company Power Machines to discuss investment opportunities in the power generation sector.
During the meeting, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar said that Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat would provide the necessary facilities and support for investment in the rehabilitation and modernization of power generation facilities and the expansion of their generation capacity.
He added that the company would provide Power Machines with the necessary cooperation to conduct preliminary technical assessments of existing power generation facilities.
Meanwhile, Denis Rudakov, Head of the Commercial Department at Power Machines, said that the company plans to conduct preliminary technical assessments of existing power generation facilities in Afghanistan.
He added that, based on the results of these assessments, the necessary plans would be developed for the rehabilitation and modernization of existing facilities and the expansion of their electricity generation capacity.
Afghanistan currently has several operational power generation plants, and short-term measures have been taken to increase their generation capacity and modernize their equipment.
