Construction has officially broken ground on four education development projects valued at 9.13 million AFN in Jawzjan province, with local officials and community members attending the launch ceremony.
Addressing the inauguration, Mawlavi Lal Jan Rashid, Director of Education for Jawzjan, detailed the scope of the initiatives. The projects encompass the construction and refurbishment of classrooms, the erection of boundary walls, the installation of secure entry gates, and the drilling of water wells equipped with storage reservoirs.
Additional components include the setup of solar power systems, the provision of water filtration units, the development of children’s play areas, and comprehensive facility rehabilitation across four schools in Shiberghan city and Aqcha district. The initiatives are financed by the international child-focused NGO, Save the Children.
Rashid noted that once finalized, the projects will enhance the educational experience for over 1,500 students, offering them safer, more conducive, and higher-standard learning environments.
Concurrently, Mawlavi Abdullah Sarhadi, Governor of Jawzjan, emphasized that investing in education is directly investing in the nation’s long-term prosperity. He underscored that expanding educational infrastructure is pivotal to raising educational quality. The Governor expressed deep gratitude to the donor organizations and urged them to sustain their vital support for the sector.
Local residents have also warmly welcomed the project launches, hailing them as a crucial measure to resolve persistent infrastructure deficits and significantly uplift the learning conditions for their children.
