The Taliban militants have captured more than 11 logistic vehicles providing fuel to the foreign forces despite the presence of security forces in Chishma Sher area in Baghlan province over the past one week, Afghan Islamic Press reported.
Citing local residents, the report said militants captured the vehicles in the very areas where the police and army checkpoints were located, but they did not even bother to prevent the incidents.
Ikramuddin, a local resident, told AIP that 11 fuel tanker trucks providing fuel to the foreign forces were captured by the armed opponents in Chishma Sher area in the past one week.
He said the security forces in the area behaved in a way that aroused suspicions that they might be in cahoots with militants.
A security official in Baghlan confirmed the issue and told AIP that vehicles had been captured and taken away towards north and south of Chishma Sher area. They had prepared a security report in this regard, adding that the security personnel involvement in the incidents cannot be confirmed.
