The Directorate of Mines and Petroleum in Panjshir province has announced the sale of over 4,000 carats of locally mined emeralds, valued at 6.3 million AFN, through an official auction to domestic traders.
Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, head of the Directorate, stated that 4,126 carats of newly extracted emeralds were sold for 6.3 million AFN during the auction, which was held in the presence of the Mining Oversight Committee members.
