Commerce Minister Departs for Uzbekistan to Strengthen Trade Ties
Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, today, Thursday, departed for Uzbekistan at the head of a delegation aimed at strengthening bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
The delegation includes Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, Governor of Balkh Province, and a number of traders and industrialists from the province.
During the visit, they are scheduled to meet with several Uzbek officials, including the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, to discuss measures for expanding economic collaboration and increasing trade between Kabul and Tashkent.
The trip follows a recent online discussion between Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce and Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, during which the two sides discussed plans to raise bilateral trade to as much as five billion dollars.
