Yesterday, on October 8, in Kabul, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China held a special ceremony and reception on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The event was attended by Dr. Mohammad Naeem Wardak, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, representatives of active foreign embassies in Kabul, members of the United Nations mission, and a number of other domestic and international guests.
The ceremony began with a speech by Jiao Sheng, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan, who welcomed the guests and emphasized the continuation of friendly relations between the two countries.
Afterwards, Dr. Mohammad Naeem Wardak, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, on behalf of the Islamic Emirate, congratulated the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and described China as a good neighbor and friend of Afghanistan.
He added that currently, the relations between China and Afghanistan are in good condition and expressed hope that the political, economic, and cultural relations between Afghanistan and China will further strengthen. He also said that Afghanistan wants to be part of the Belt and Road Initiative project and expressed hope that trade between the two countries will begin through the Wakhan Corridor.
