Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), held a video conference with Jurabek Mirzamuhammadov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy, to discuss crucial electricity-related issues.
During the meeting, Dr. Omar emphasized the importance of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan as neighboring and friendly nations. He highlighted that joint economic cooperation could serve as a strong foundation for future developments, further solidifying the ties between the two countries.
Minister Mirzamuhammadov expressed his support for expanding economic cooperation, reaffirming Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering collaboration with Afghanistan. The discussions brought both parties closer to reaching agreements on multiple key issues, which are anticipated to be finalized soon.
Currently, Afghanistan imports electricity from several countries, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran, demonstrating the regional interdependence in energy resources. The strengthening of ties with Uzbekistan is expected to play a crucial role in Afghanistan’s energy security and economic development.
