Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, recently met with Sheikh Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the Governor of Herat Province, to discuss the effective management of refugees amid increasing migrant deportations from Iran.
In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Governor Islamjar reported on the proactive measures taken by the Islamic Emirate’s officials in Herat. He noted that local Mujahideen, alongside government officials, are dedicated to enhancing social welfare and tackling challenges faced by the community.
The governor highlighted a significant rise in the number of migrants returning through the Islam Qala border, emphasizing ongoing efforts to ensure that these returnees receive essential services for a smooth transition to their home provinces.
Sheikh Noor Ahmad expressed appreciation for the support of local residents in assisting migrants, pledging to leverage all available resources to secure their welfare.
Deputy Prime Minister Hanafi commended the dedication of Herat’s officials and the local community in addressing the needs of returning migrants. He affirmed that, despite the rapid deportations from Iran, the collaboration between the Islamic Emirate and the people of Herat has led to successful management of the situation.
He extended his appreciation for the hard work and commitment of both local authorities and the citizens of Herat in supporting the refugee population.
