Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, has said that some Western donors are beginning to acknowledge that cutting humanitarian aid will not force the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan into submission.
Speaking at a UN Security Council session on Afghanistan, Nebenzya criticized certain Western nations—without naming specific countries—saying some still refuse to admit their past mistakes.
According to reports cited by Bakhtar News Agency from international media, the Russian envoy urged the global community to abandon what he described as “irrational pressure” on the Islamic Emirate. Instead, he called for practical engagement and cooperation with Afghanistan’s de facto authorities to foster stability and economic progress in the country.
