IEA prime minister in Turkmenistan for launch of TAPI project

Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the IEA, arrived in Turkmenistan on Wednesday for the opening ceremony of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project among others.

Akhund was welcomed to Uzbekistan by their minister of foreign affairs, Rashid Muradov, and other high-ranking officials.

After his arrival, Akhund met with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the national leader of Turkmenistan, at his residence in Mary.

The parties discussed the expansion of bilateral relations and the importance of implementing development and regional projects between the two countries and described these projects as beneficial for the welfare of the people of both countries.
