Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum on Sunday met with the Chinese ambassador to Kabul, Zhao Xing, and stressed the need to accelerate Mes Aynak copper and Amu Darya basin oil projects.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on strengthening investment cooperation in the fields of economic and trade between China and Afghanistan, Zhao said on X.

Badri expressed his willingness to continue maintaining close contact with me in these fields, Zhao said.

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum also said in a statement that extraction acceleration of Mes Aynak copper and Amu Darya basin oil projects was also emphasized in the meeting.

Experts say that the lack of standard equipment and machinery has created problems in mining, but the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum should try to ensure that standard work is done in this sector.

According to experts, the country’s mines should not be controlled by a particular country.

Currently, foreign companies from various countries are working in the country’s mining sector, but Chinese companies are more active than other countries.
