The acting Minister of Higher Education, Nida Mohammad Nadim, said that work on the curriculum for universities has been finished and will be announced soon.

During his visit to Parwan, Nadim said that Afghan schools will provide master’s and PHd degrees.

“You are aware of the curriculums. Approximately 70 subjects have been finalized. Soon these will be provided to the universities,” he said.

However, he did not indicate whether females would be allowed to return to their classes.

“One of the reasons was that our Afghans who were studying abroad, God knows what their mindset would have been when they returned. If they are trained here, they would be both working easily and would improve well,” Nadim said.

Meanwhile, Mir Abdul Qadeer Hashimi, head of the Sharia faculty of Parwan, said that attention should be paid to the unfinished construction projects in the educational area.

“Work began on compounds and remains incomplete. (Hopefully) attention will be paid for the work to be completed,” he said.

Meanwhile, students in Parwan called on the Islamic Emirate to allow girls’ to return to their schools.

“In any way you consider necessary, the universities could be reopened, so our female students can continue their education,” said Abdul Saleem Rasa, a student.

“Almost half of the society is madeup by women, and their presence is very important in the universities,” said Nazifullah Tawkal Yar, a student.

Nadim also said that some private universities provide fake educational documents to the people, stressing that all universities should boost their levels to international standards.
