The Independent Directorate of the Local Governance (IDLG) says Abdul Qadir Ashna has been appointed as the new governor of northern Sari Pul province of Afghanistan.
According to a statement released by IDLG on Sunday, Mr. Ashna has been appointed as the new governor of the province based on the recommendations of the Independent Directorate of Local Governance.
The statement further added that IDLG’s recommendation for the appointment of Mr. Ashna has been approved by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
According to the Independent Directorate of Local Governance, Mr. Ashna is a well-educated, experienced, and talented official.
IDLG hoped that the appointment and assumption of the local government of Sari Pul by Mr. Ashna would open a new chapter to provide better services to the residents of the province.
The statement also added that IDLG thanks the former governor of the province Mr. Mohammad Zahir Wahdat for his services.
