An Afghan military helicopter crashed before dawn in central Parwan province on Saturday, leaving eight casualties, an official said.
Wahida Shahkar, a spokeswoman for the provincial governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News two helicopters of Afghan army were landing in Mandiqul area but one of them crashed due technical problems. Without elaborating, she said 8 ANA members were killed or wounded in the incident.
Alozai Ahmadi, commander of cooperation in the province, confirmed the incident but did not provide further information.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, however, said the chopper has been shot down by their fighters, claiming that on the board were commando soldiers who were killed.
