The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 77 new cases of the coronavirus out of 458 samples tested over the last 24 hours.
So far, 99,230 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 8,987 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported two new deaths from COVID-19 and 89 recoveries.
The number of total cases is now 37,676, the total reported deaths is 1,377, and the total recoveries is 27,312.
The cases were reported in Herat (25), Kabul (11), Balkh (17), Bamiyan (2), Takhar (4), Nangarhar (5), Baghlan (1), Kunduz (3), Daikundi (5), Badakhshan (2) and Panjshir (2) provinces.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 775,489 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 21,684,349, according to Johns Hopkins University.
