Saudi Arabia to enforce nationwide 24-hour curfew for Eid holiday

Saudi Arabia has decided to impose complete lockdown across the country from 30th of Ramadan until Shawwal 4.
The Ministry of Interior said the 24-hour nationwide lockdown will be imposed for five days, starting from Ramadan 30 to Shawwal 4, and is in line with the directives of King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz.
As per King Salman’s directives, the ministry will coordinate with other competent authorities to supervise the quarantine measures and people’s compliance with precautionary measures, as well as with any updates and amendments due to the latest developments on the situation.

For the period from Thursday, Ramadan 21, May 14, until Friday, Ramadan 29, May 22, economic and commercial activities, which are excluded by previous resolutions, will continue to perform activities, with emphasis on the necessity of adherence to precautionary measures.
During the same period, Saudi and non-Saudi residents will be allowed to leave homes for essentials from 9am to 5pm, across the kingdom except for in Makkah. Citizens and expatriate residents must abide by precautionary measures put in place since the coronavirus outbreak.
The daytime curfew will continue in Makkah. Entry to and exit from the cities, regions and neighbourhoods, which are under lockdown, will continue during the period from May 14 to 22.
Regarding the period from Ramadan 30 to Shawwal 4, complete lockdown will be imposed across the kingdom. People must abide by social distancing and gatherings are banned for more than five people, according to the measures issued earlier by the Ministry of Interior.
The ministry urged all individuals and entities to comply fully with the safety rules and preventive measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. They need to abide by social distancing policy and avoid social gatherings in all their forms and venues.
