Taliban have called on all Afghans to be cautious during the critical period of reduction in violence, urging them not to allow anyone to destroy the chance for peace.

In a weekly editorial piece on their website, the group said on Sunday that the Afghan nation would be fully responsible to address the conflict of Afghanistan after the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country.

“Our believing nation and proud land is again passing through decisive moments in their continuingly celebrated history,” Taliban said.

“Such incidents are rare occurrences in the history of nations hence our fellow compatriots must understand gravity of the situation and handle it accordingly,” they added.

The Taliban and US have already announced that they wound sign a peace accord in Doha, capital of Qatar on February 29.

Taliban started observing the week of reduction in violence throughout Afghanistan since Saturday night.

Intra-Afghan peace talks would be started once the Taliban and US signed the peace accord. It would face many issues and challenges.

Taliban said that the US has agreed to full withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan in the peace agreement. However, the US has not said anything in this regard so far.

Many Afghan people believe that some elements and influential figures are trying to sabotage the existing peace opportunity for their vested interests.  According to people, these elements are searching for their personal interests in war.
