Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbaddin Hekyatyar says some circles still want the war in the country to continue as he formally launched his presidential bid on Tuesday for September 28 election.
Speaking at a campaign rally in capital Kabul, Hekmatyar warned that if the US loses a war, it cannot be predicted that the global super power will be divided into how many pieces.
Hekmatyar accused President Ghani of offering political bribes to individuals to quell the rising opposition against him, adding the reason behind this behavior is that Ghani does not belong to any strong political party.
He also called on his fellow runners to resort to fair competition in the election campaign.
The warlord-turned politician said he wanted an Afghanistan with national sovereignty, adding that he “does not tolerate slavery.”
