The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported 748 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,888 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Kabul was on the top of the list with 311 new cases, followed by Herat with 181.
Other provinces reporting cases were Kandahar (50), Nangarhar (36), Paktia (78), Badghis (32), Parwan (21), Laghman (5), Farah (6), Kunar (10), Ghor (8) and Kapisa (10).
Also, 21 people were reported to have died from COVID-19 in Kabul (8), Nangarhar (5), Takhar (1), Baghlan (1), Logar (1), Bamiyan (2), Laghman (1), Ghor (1) and Paktika (1).
324 have recovered in the past 24 hours, according to the ministry.
The number of active cases in Afghanistan is 19,138, according to the Public Health Ministry.
The total number of known deaths from COVID-19 in the country is 426 and the total recovered cases is 3,326, according to ministry information.
So far, 52,546 samples have been tested and the total number of positive COVID-19 cases is 22,890, data by the ministry shows.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 416,201 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 7,360,239, according to Johns Hopkins University.
