The Afghan minister of agriculture says 600,000 Afghan women will achieve economic self-reliance in the coming four years.
Nasir Ahmad Durani told a conference in Kabul on Tuesday that Women Economic Empowerment Program will provide Afghan women with job opportunities in agriculture and livestock industry.
He said greenhouses, agricultural products processing plants, farms for aviculture and beekeeping farms will be built for women in different provinces.
“In total, four years from now, the ministry of agriculture will be able to take 616 thousand women to economic self-reliance,” Durani said.
He said his ministry has so far helped 400 thousand women through various supporting programs.
