Afghan special forces conducted a clearance operation in Qal’ah-e Now district of Badghis, killing 39 Taliban fighters and destroying 30 IEDs, military officials said on Thursday.
The operation was launched in Qal’ah-e Now that clear the insurgents, according to the officials, adding that “the insurgents’ safe havens has been destroyed during the operation.”
The forces have also destroyed a weapons cache, officials said.
The officials have not provided further details.
Taliban has not commented on the claim.
